Biographical references:
Xie Fuzhan is president of The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He obtained a master's degree from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Xie worked as a researcher for the Development Research Center of the State Council until 1999, when he became deputy director. In 2006 he became director of the National Bureau of Statistics. He was a member of the 17th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and he served as Director of the Research Office of the State Council from 2008 to 2013.
