Bemerkung:   In einem pinken Umschlag, adressiert an Jean-Christophe Ammann in der Kunsthalle Basel, befand sich ein zweiseitiger Brief von Michael Buthe, datiert auf den 17. Dezember 1979 in Köln. Zu Beginn des Briefs sind zwei Stempel von Buthe zu sehen: Zwei geflügelte Löwen mit Stern und der Kreisrunde Stempel „COLONIA AGRIPPINENSIS ORIENTALIS IMPERIALE PHANTASTICO“. Buthe schreibt, dass er bald in die Schweiz kommen möchte, um Ammann zu sehen und viel zu besprechen. Er schicke ihm Postkarten mit und wünscht ihm und seiner Frau schöne Weihnachten und ein schönes 1980. Aktuell bereite er gerade die Ausstellung im Folkwang Museum vor. Sonst sei alles absolut fantastisch. Außerdem war Buthe vor drei Wochen in New York, was er als „totaler Horror“ beschreibt. // In a pink envelope, addressed to Jean-Christophe Ammann at the Kunsthalle Basel, was a two-page letter from Michael Buthe, dated 17 December 1979 in Cologne. Two stamps by Buthe can be seen at the beginning of the letter: Two winged lions with a star and the circular stamp “COLONIA AGRIPPINENSIS ORIENTALIS IMPERIALE PHANTASTICO.” Buthe writes that he would like to come to Switzerland soon to see Ammann and discuss a lot. He sends him postcards and wishes him and his wife a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 1980. He is currently preparing the exhibition at the Folkwang Museum. Everything else is absolutely fantastic. Buthe was also in New York three weeks ago, which he describes as “totaler Horror” [total horror].
