Inhaltsangabe:   Paul Henry Maty berichtet Herzog Ernst II. von Sachsen-Gotha und Altenburg von den Wahlen in der Royal Society London, die für Maty mit dem Posten des Sekretärs und für Joseph Banks mit dem Posten des Präsidenten der Royal Society endeten. Zugleich gibt Maty eine kurze Skizze über Charles Stanhope (3rd Earl Stanhope.
